Browsealoud
Browsealoud is a computer programme that reads out all website content including PDF and MS Word documents

Changing Browser Preferences
You can change text size and colour as well as background colours by making changes in the preferences or options section of your browser. The exact details of how to do this will be different for each type of browser so you may have to experiment a little. The following information relates to Internet Explorer, one of the most popular Web browsers.
Changing preferences in Internet Explorer
Most versions of Internet Explorer allow you to change colours, text size and default font via the browser preferences.
First set the browser accessibility options:
A the menu bar select Tools > Internet Options.
On the dialog box that appears click Accessibilty
Under formatting you can check the boxes to either:
Ignore colours specified on the web page
Ignore font styles specified on the web page
Ignore font sizes specified on the web page
Preferences you set will now apply to the page you are viewing.
To change text size:
Internet Explorer 5 and above provides a menu for changing text size
Select View from the menu bar.
Click on Text Size (Text zoom on Macs).
Select one of the text sizes from the list that appears.
User style sheets
The presentation of this website can be changed by turning off the style sheet in the browser preferences, or by substituting your own style sheet.
Windows PC Accessibility Controls
Many Windows PCs can be customised to meet individual access needs, e.g., changes to screen contrast, resolution, magnification options and font choice. For example, with Windows XP Professional choose Start > Control Panel > Accessibility Options.
Keyboard
The following keyboard commands are defaults for Internet Explorer on PC. Other browsers (e.g., Opera), may use different keys for navigating around this website.
Press the Tab key to move from link to link (or Shift + Tab to move backwards).
Press the Enter key to activate a link.
Use Alt + Left Arrow (Apple + Left Arrow for Macs) to go back a page.
Or, to fill out forms:
Press the Tab key to move from field to field.
Press Up Arrow or Down Arrow to move between items in a list.
Press Spacebar to check or uncheck radio buttons and checkboxes.
Press Enter to activate buttons.
