Master of the Brush Stroke
Congratulations to David McLean, 19 from Tullichewan, Alexandria on winning the College’s Painting and Decorating 2nd year Apprentice of the Year Award.
David who is currently employed by Baxter and Gillespie Painting Contractors said; “I am really chuffed I’ve won this award. I’ve enjoyed coming to college. It has given me a chance to learn the more specialised work like graining, marbling and sign writing as you don’t get much of a chance to do that kind of work when you’re working on building sites.”
"I'd like to start my own business one day, but for now I hope to come back to the college after the summer to continue on with my apprenticeship training."
Andrew Neeson, Course Lecturer said, “Since David joined Baxter and Gillespie he has gone from strength to strength and really excelled. He has lots of drive and produces work of a high standard. Clydebank College wish David success for the future and we are sure that whatever he does, he will succeed.’
