Senior Management Team
The Senior Management Team at Clydebank College is responsible for the leadership, strategy and priorities of the organisation, for the delivery of the Business Plan and Budget, and for the overall day to day running of the College.

Gordon graduated with a BSc (honours) in Physics and Mathematics and, after a short spell as a Science Officer with the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority; he spent 13 years teaching in the secondary school sector before joining Clydebank College as a lecturer in 1986.
Since joining the College he has progressed through a variety of positions including Senior Lecturer, Schools Liaison Officer, College Manager, Assistant to the Principal and Depute Principal. After graduating with a Masters degree in Educational Management, and with many years experience representing the college sector in local and national government initiatives, Gordon was appointed Principal/Chief Executive of Clydebank College in late December 2007.
Gordon has been pivotal in the securing the College’s current enviable position in the sector and is wholly committed to taking the College, its learners and staff, to a new level, providing the highest quality of learning experience to the communities the College serves. He vigorously supports the regeneration of Clydebank and Dumbarton and is a Director of Clydebank Rebuilt.
Gordon is a keen skier and scuba diver and through these interests satisfies a passion for travel to some of the world’s most remote locations.

Stephanie embarked on her career originally at Glasgow School of Art over 20 years ago and from there went onto lecturing Graphic Design at Falkirk College. Stephanie stayed at Falkirk College for over 17 years gradually progressing to Director of Curriculum and Quality. Stephanie worked at Anniesland College in the position of Assistant Principal for HR and Quality before taking up the post of Depute Principal at Clydebank College on the 6th of May 2008.

David began his career in the Health Service and Local Government in generalist personnel roles.
He then moved into the animal health field in a joint venture between ICI and the Wellcome Foundation covering manufacturing and sales sites. The joint venture was taken over by Pitman Moore Inc, Illinois which at that time was the world’s largest animal pharmaceutical company. His last post with Pitman Moore was as General Manager for the manufacturing site in Glasgow.
He moved to Clydebank College as Human Resources Manager in 1994 after making a personal decision not to relocate for family reasons, following a global restructuring of manufacturing sites.
He became Director of Human Resources in January 2003.

Liz began her career in administrative management with the National Health Service before moving into Marketing and Corporate Communications within the Scottish tourism sector. She joined James Watt College in August 1991 and during her seventeen years there worked as a lecturer in business and management and was latterly Head of School for Tourism and Marketing. During this period she also undertook a two year secondment lecturing in strategic marketing at Glasgow Caledonian University and spent two years as Business Development Manager at the time of the opening of a new campus in North Ayrshire. Liz joined Clydebank College as Director of Business Growth in September 2007.

Alan started his professional accountancy career with Coopers and Lybrand in Birmingham in 1992. After a 6 month secondment to Handsworth College he left Coopers and Lybrand to join the college as Financial Controller. During his 9 years with Handsworth College he was involved in the merger of and subsequent reorganisation of, Handsworth College with East Birmingham College to form City College Birmingham. Alan progressed to the position of College Accountant. A desire to return home to Scotland fell at an opportune time as Clydebank College was embarking upon a new build project and were looking to recruit a Financial Controller. Alan joined Clydebank College in May 2004 and was appointed as Director of Finance and Estates in April 2008.

Gill has worked within higher education and the voluntary sector for fifteen years prior to undertaking the post of Director of Support Services at Clydebank College in 2004. Initially working in research and fundraising roles within charitable organisations including Clyde Action and the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust, in 1990 Gill moved to a position supporting students and assisting in the development of student services at Glasgow University, during an exciting time within higher education. In 2001 she took up the post of National Director with Arthritis Care, moving back to the education sector in 2004.
