Clydebank Scoops Gold- again!
Clydebank College has been re-awarded the Healthy Working Lives Gold Award with an official presentation which took place today (15 December 2011).The Healthy Working Lives Programme supports employers and employees to develop health promotion and safety themes in the workplace in a practical, logical way that’s beneficial to all. The College has been participating in the scheme for over 15 years.
Kathy Bow, Health and Safety Manager said, 'This is a great achievement, not only for the committee but also the staff and students as a whole. A huge thank you to all the staff that have helped us to re-achieve this award. As a committee we look forward to continuing to improve the health and wellbeing of the staff and students at Clydebank College.'
Lisa Buck, Health and Inequalities Manager commented, ‘The HWL Gold Award is the pinnacle of workplace health improvement. Clydebank College are truly a torch bearer for staff health, working as they have for 20 years to create a supportive and protective environment for their employees. Improving health and boosting the economy are key government aims, and the kinds of activities that Clydebank College has developed in their bid to achieve their award must certainly contribute. The College have trained managers on mental wellbeing, developed health policies, offered staff lifestyle checks, and provided healthy eating options. I am delighted to present the College with their second Gold award, and can vouch for their commitment and dedication to this important agenda.’
