Clydebank College was delighted to host its first Student Volunteering and Enterprising Awards to demonstrate the significant contribution volunteering and enterprise activity is making to college learners and to the local community. In particular the awards recognize the time students commit, the skills they develop and the difference they make through their volunteering and enterprising skills.

The college awarded 23 certificates to commend those who had been put forward for their volunteering efforts at a presentation on 7 June 2012.

Gill Watt , Director of Support Services said, ‘The college would like to congratulate those who received certificates. Both volunteering and enterprising is a rapidly growing movement at Clydebank and recently we are seeing more students wanting to get involved. This isn’t surprising, because working within the college and local community is a typical part of the college culture.’
Jas Sangha, Enterprise Intern who took the lead with the organisation of the event said, ‘Enterprise at the College has no doubt flourished within the last year and it’s great to see students so enthusiastic about taking time out to help others around them and in the community. From volunteering, to fundraising and organising charity events, starting own businesses and race nights our students have definitely increased their confidence and employability skills through taking part’
