Picture This 2012
Whether you like photography as a hobby, or are enrolled in a Photography course here at Clydebank, this may be the perfect opportunity to showcase your work and show off your photographic expertise.
West Dunbartonshire Council is looking to update its photography stock and at the same time promote ‘West Dunbartonshire as a place to Live, Work and Visit’.
All students need to do is pick a theme and get snapping! Some suggested themes are: Happy West Dunbartonshire; Rural and Urban; West Dunbartonshire’s Virtues and Regeneration. However, we are happy for you to think up your own theme as long as it complements the project aim.
After the closing date selected entries will be uploaded to the Council’s Flickr page and a shortlist of 10-15 will be selected by a judging panel in April. Those shortlisted will then be voted on by members of the public and the winning piece will be announced in May/June.
What can I win?
The most popular image will win £100 of Calumet vouchers AND the winning image will be featured prominently in West Dunbartonshire Council’s marketing/ advertising (exact details to be confirmed). There will also be prizes of £75 and £50 for any highly commended and commended submissions.
A photography exhibition will be staged at both the College and at a local library to exhibit the excellent work received.
