Opening Hours: Monday – Thursday 9am-7.30 pm, Friday 9am-4.45pm
The Library is at the heart of the College and all matriculated students have access to a wide range of facilities available. The Library boasts a suite of 50 PCs all with Internet and E-mail access, as well as Microsoft 2003, which includes the following packages– Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher. There are 2 colour printers and 3 black and white networked printers.
Each of the networked PCs has access to: Infotrac – an on-line database of full-text newspaper and journal articles; Scran – an image bank of over 300,000 copyright cleared resources; Oxford Reference; on-line access to the major reference works on various subjects including art and architecture, languages, science, literature, history, medicine etc.
Selections of additional packages have been added: Mind Manager, Sage Accounts, Language Software & Target Skills. Three of the PCs are specially adapted to assist students with additional support needs. A selection of relevant textbooks and materials relating to most disciplines taught in the College are available for borrowing. Local and national newspapers, magazines and journals are available over the Internet as well as in the usual format. There is an exclusive reference section, a local history collection, quick read, audio and video tapes, a section for works of fiction and also a free DVD Library for staff and student use. A photocopying and binding service are available to students at a very reasonable cost. Also, each month the Library has displays which highlight topical issues.
